At 6:15 a.m. on Sept. 26, MHS’ football players, cheerleaders, band and JROTC bared their Trojan pride on KHON News as part of Cover 2, a program that reports on Hawaii high school football and other aspects of school life. This broadcast coincided with MHS’ homecoming week, showing Trojans at their most spirited. “I hope that there’s a positiveness that comes out of highlighting these young students,” stated KHON News Anchor Jai Cunningham, “It’s kind of cool that mom, dad, aunties and uncles get a chance to see them perform on television live in the morning so I would hope we could continue that.” Cover 2 airs each Thursday at 9:00 p.m. and is exploring new opportunities for coverage after football season ends.
