Q: How would you say it is now compared to subbing as a teacher?
A: I’ve learned so much in comparison to when I was subbing, so I had what I call my “fabulous gurus,” my “fabus,” especially Aunty Lisa or Mr. Mark Tolentino and also a lot of the English department who has been very supportive and helpful. Pretty much all of the faculty and staff that I’ve come across have been supportive and helpful.

Q: Did you teach anywhere else besides here in Mililani?
A: I subbed for a few weeks at Aiea High School.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would you want?
A: Any superpower…. Flying!

Q: Can you think of any name that you would like with your superpower?
A: You know what? Miss Iron Chef. Because it sounds kind of strong, yet I like to feed people.

Q: Do you speak any languages now besides English?
A: Well, I wouldn’t call it another language, because I’m not fluent in it, but Japanese because my grandmother and mother would often speak to me in Japanese. I would definitely like to become fluent in Japanese and Okinawan. Get back to my roots.
