Though a shoebox is an item that is normally disregarded, hundreds of them were put to good use through the “Shoeboxes for the Homeless” donation drive from Oct. 31 to Nov. 8. During this event organized by ASMHS, students contributed toiletries in shoeboxes to benefit the homeless residing mainly on Oahu’s north shore. One hundred twenty shoeboxes were collected from MHS, and representatives from Chinen, Arinaga and Associates Financial Group picked them up.
