Q: How long have you been subbing?
A: This is my third year.

Q: What caused you to sub for this particular class—Mrs. Tucker’s class?
A: I am working on getting my master’s degree in education, so I’m teaching as a substitute for this long-term position because, my background is in English, and I’m teaching freshman English; I ended up coming here because Mrs. Tucker contacted me late last year and knew that she was gonna be going on maternity leave. So she’s on maternity leave for the first quarter, and she had just heard that I was a substitute teacher and contacted me and we met, and talked about what she needed for the first quarter.

Q: How has your first week been?
A: It’s been good; the kids have been … I find the students—the freshmen are really enthusiastic and they’re smart and they’re creative and fun.

Q: What are your hobbies and interests?
A: Photography, digital photography, Photoshop, reading.

Q: If you had a superpower, what would it be?
A: I’ve given this a lot of thought, actually. It would be that I could- there used to be a show called Bewitched, I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of it. But you know, the witch would twinkle her nose and she would be anywhere she wanted to be. Because I’ve always dreamed that I could wiggle my nose and I would just be in Paris, and I could have lunch, and I wiggle my nose and I’d be back in class. So there’s no travel time. You just wiggle your nose, and go to a different time and place and come back.
