Students were able to walk out to the torri gates since the island was at low tide; if it was high tide the gate would appear as if it was floating on top of the ocean.

Q: Do you have any goals for the school year? Or goals as a teacher?

A: I wanna make sure that my students get as much as they can out of the year and hopefully reach the goals that they have for this year, and keep moving forward. Some of them are seniors already, so I just want them to be ready.

Q: If you had three wishes, what three wishes would you make?
A: I would wish for an unlimited supply of money, for my parents to be able to travel the world and world peace.

Q: How do you feel about having your own classroom and class?
A: I like it, I’m enjoying it, it’s different. I’m doing the same thing but its different to be in charge.

Q: Whats your favorite part about teaching?
A: For me, teaching, just the satisfaction of when students reach their goals and they really appreciate what you do for them like you see them down the line. I had a former student, he brought me a bag to use in the class like supplies. That big bag over there is full of  paper and supplies. Just knowing that you can make a positive difference in a student’s life, I mean to be an adult you know they appreciate. They come back to visit you and when they see you they say how much they miss you as a teacher and just that satisfaction.

Q: How long were you teaching here before you got a license?
A: This is actually my 15th year. Three years ago I decided to go back to school and get my teaching certification so I got fully certified in Special Ed and Elementary Ed.
