MONDAY – Apple announced the third generation of AirPods in their Unleashed event.

The new version promises several improvements over the second generation, including longer battery life, water resistance, and enhanced audio quality. It will also include their spatial audio feature, which debuted with the AirPods Pro in late 2019, using head tracking and other technology to provide a more immersive experience for the wearer.

The earbuds, which will be released on Tuesday, will not feature the noise cancelling or transparency modes which are available in the AirPods Pro.

On release, the third generation AirPods will cost $179, while the price of the second generation will be reduced to $129.
