FIRST WRITING CENTER OPENS AT MHS. MHS welcomed the opening of a writing center on Feb. 22, along with its accompanying ten peer writing guides. Located in H-205, students can come in to work on writing projects or receive help from the tutors. Help is available after school Monday through Friday until 3:45 p.m. Online help is also available on Wednesdays and Thursdays, even when the center is not open. English teacher Claire Gearen started the writing center. “It is a response to what I felt was a lack of vision with writing education and so I wanted to see if we could offer something better,” said Gearen.
