VEX ASSEMBLES FRIENDSHIPS AT ROBOTICS TOURNAMENT. On Aug. 28 and 29, the MHS’ VEX Robotics team competed in the Central Oahu VEX Robotics tournament, making it to the semifinals and finishing in 14th overall. Out of the 13 members in the MHS team, Juniors Noah Evile and Tyler Labonte, Senior Chester Leoso, and Sophomore Liezl Rae Chan represented MHS during the tournament, which tested the skills of the robot they programmed. Even though they did not make it to the final round, the team enjoyed meeting members of VEX teams from other schools. “Besides being nervous, it’s actually really fun. You get to meet a lot of other people from different schools, and see their ideas. It’s sort of like a social event, as well as a competition,” Evile said.
